Six Months into COVID-19, Singular Provides Essential Analysis, Insight, and Marketing Advice for Ad Tech
Singular has published its 2020 Mobile Economy Report, a 40-plus page analysis of the ways the global pandemic has affected the app economy. Covering January through the summer, the report provides deep insight into the 3.7 billion app installs during the last six months.
As part of the report, Singular surveyed hundreds of prominent mobile marketers and analysts on their observations and advice for marketing during an unprecedented time of change and uncertainty.
According to Singular, there are eight types of mobile businesses that have experienced outsized growth during COVID-19, including:
- Business services
- Gaming
- Health & fitness
- On-demand food delivery
- Retail
- Retail subscriptions
- Social communication
- Streaming
Vungle is part of this group with a record mobile downloads during the early part of the COVID-19 lockdown coupled with approximately a 10% increase in unique devices.
One of the most valuable parts of Singular’s report are the observations of mobile marketing experts and the advice from more than 250 CMOs about how they’ve approached the last six months and their tips for customer acquisition and growth in the future. Instead of pulling back on advertising, almost a third said they would double down on new approaches to marketing.
Vungle believes that looking to the months ahead, there can be little doubt that brands will start to explore new and alternative ways to reach consumers and the mobile in-app space is poised to help do just that. The large supply influx within mobile gaming is a great place for brand and performance advertisers to capture valuable audiences in a state of high engagement.
